The Promyze project originated from the Bordeaux Computer Research Laboratory (LaBRI). Our start-up is the continuation of Cédric Teyton's thesis work under the supervision of Xavier Blanc. Mainly focused on the analysis of contributions of developers on a software project, this work has proposed different approaches to understand each member's contribution to the overall quality of source code, the real raw material of a software. First of all, the objective was to look at development practices. Then afterwards, to imagine the production of personalised qualitative data in a continuous improvement process.
The vision that we share at Promyze is that quality software is first and foremost based on the standardization of development practices, accountability and empowerment of the team on the subject of code quality. Sharing and exchanging know-how enables the whole team to continuously improve and raise its level together. These are the values advocated by the Software Craftsmanship. This vision is not new, but unfortunately it is not always put into practice. Since 2016, we have been imagining solutions to help our customers improve the quality of their developments. And this, with an approach based on these values. We are constantly looking for new ways to help teams structure their code quality management.
At Promyze, we are first and foremost developers who are passionate about our profession and our field of activity. Curious and open-minded, our team is involved in the Tech community, Arthur our CTO and our developer Damien who are part of the organization BDX I/O. Our scientific expert Xavier regularly participates in Conferences & Meetups to present the results of our R&D work. We try to keep up to date with the latest news in the field. Indeed, technology monitoring is essential in our business. We constantly seek to improve and promote the values of Software Craftsmanship within our team. We advocate listening and exchange in our decision making. But also, promote knowledge sharing for all (juniors and seniors) and ask everyone to be undstanding towards each other. Knowing how to accept that a solution is better than the one proposed is something common in all engineering professions. You have to learn how to accept it. All the more so if it is for the good of the project and of everyone. These human values are fundamental and are part of our identity.
We make every effort to satisfy our customers by providing quality support and expertise. We are pragmatic in imagining the solutions best suited to the needs of our customers and users. Listening and reactive, we seek to build the solution that best suits today's problems. Whether it be on software quality or technical debt. We are the first users of the tools we imagine, to offer a quality experience as soon as possible.
