It is a 12th edition of the JFTL (French Software Testing Day) which was held this year at the Belfry in Paris, given the current health context. Nevertheless, although the date was initially planned for April 1st, the organising committee did everything possible to ensure the success of this event, which is a must in the software testing world.

We were able to attend this day and it was an opportunity to meet new people, and of course to exchange with partners, including ALL4TEST, which had its stand at this event as it does every year. The programme of the conferences of this day gave the floor to several subjects on the contribution of AI in the field of testing, but we also noted a number of interventions on the role of the tester in an agile organisation. The initial Keynote by Jean-Pierre Lambert, one of the French specialists in Agility, is a good illustration of this: collaboration between developers, testers and trades is fundamental to the success of a project, and his presentation gives a whole set of advice on this subject.

Of course, we attended the intervention of our expert Xavier Blanc accompanied by Frédéric Assante Di Capillo (Amadeus) on AIFEX, a project on the use of AI applied to exploratory tests. This presentation seems to have been acclaimed by the public, as it was elected Best Presentation of the day! A second one for Xavier after his intervention in 2018on the concepts of Promyze, in particular the customised feedback to further guide the developers to improve the quality of the product code.

Although the number of participants was lower than usual, this event remains a must to analyse trends and identify the actors to follow in the field of testing. It is also an opportunity for us to initiate new synergies and make new contacts, and to take the time to exchange with our partners. Looking forward to next year!
